Paddlesports Fleet
The records of the boats owned are within the Groups asset registers but include:
Open Canoes: The centre has a mixture of different size craft to suit different needs and purposes. If unsure, seek advice from a more experienced coach or the chief instructor Paddlesports.
Kayaks: The fitting of rear buoyancy bags reduces the risk of swamping and reduces manual handling risk. For this reason it is best practice that all kayaks are fitted with them. Duty Officers should consider whether they are happy to authorise non air bagged boats to be deployed having considered the individuals involved.
Paddleboards: The centre has a number of different sizes of SUP to suit different needs and purposes. If unsure seek advice from a more experienced coach or the chief instructor paddlesports. All sups should checked for inflation levels before using. Those leading SUP sessions should be familiar with the latest British canoeing Guidance on leashes and follow appropriately. If conditions are above B1 consideration must be given as to positioning and wearing of leash due to risk of entrapment.
